Herbal Calming Pillows
For the Love of Our Fur Babies
For most of us our pets are members of our families. We love them just as we do our children. They are our companions, our best friends, our guardian angels. We'd do anything to keep them healthy, happy and safe from harm. I have had pets my entire life, from a tank full of fish to a salamander named Sammy, from a guinea pig, a box turtle, several dogs and at one time, I fed 21 stray cats! I can honestly say that every one of them was very important to me and became part of my heart. At this time I am Mommy to 4 cats and 3 birds, all rescues.
Over the years that I've grown and studied herbs I've come across information about how herbs can also benefit our furry friends. I am not a veterinarian, so I do not make any herbal products for animals to ingest. But I have researched how the scents of certain non-toxic herbs can help cats and dogs calm, relax and rest.
Saying that my cats get nervous when they are in their carriers is a huge understatement. They know it means they are either going to the vet or on a road trip, and they would prefer to stay home. I've also observed dogs who are kept in kennels, crates and carriers, who do not seem comforted or cozy.
I started making Herbal Pet Calming Pillows for calming my 4 cats in their carriers. I only hoped they would help. Boy, was I shocked! When I finished the first one, they wrestled for it! After smelling the herbs, they were attracted to it, played with it, then laid down and fell asleep on it. For those of you with nervous or stressed dogs or cats, I highly recommend trying a pillow. They have been made to fit many different size carriers and crates.
